This week has been pretty average, but here are some highlights anyway; some very average highlights.
I have been working on a couple of embroidery gifts for friends expecting babies, I plan on framing them and they can be used in the nursery or not, whatever, but I have really enjoyed making them. Well I showed the beginning of one to The Grizzly Kid and he remarked that it looked like a fetus—he seemed to believe since they were for nurseries that, that would be something I would embroider. Do you see it? Because after he said it that was all I could see so I had to hurry and finish that one.
Anyway, now it is finished it looks more like the sweet little bird that I intended.
Now I just need to find the perfect little frame for it. Is it lame to give homemade? Because as a kid I remember thinking it was, but now people are making so many cool things! So I hope this passes as crafty and cool, not crafty and lame.
Also, Ben Affleck as Batman? I have my doubts that he can pull off the stunts and action that make Batman awesome, he is 41 after all. Of course, it’s not all about the age, because look at the crazy stunts Tom Cruise still pulls off at 51. Anyway, I’m not so hung up on this choice as others are, and I certainly agree with The Grizzly Kid‘s take on it.
In the world of food I love trying new things, especially if there is cheese involved, and this grilled cheese by Joy the Baker looks amazing, and is on my to try list, but with my lack of the necessary ingredients I went for a simpler version.
I got a couple of bites in before I thought, man this is so good I should snap a picture to make other people jealous. Mine is really just a plain cheese sandwich, but on my homemade bread I made yesterday instead of just regular butter I mixed mine with some Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt—it was like one giant cheesy bread delight. I will never make another plain grilled cheese again.
When I am at the end of my rope with Wallaby we go outside because it settles us both down like nothing else—well food usually works too—and you can tell what kind of day we have had by how many times we went outside. Yesterday, when Wallaby only took two 30 minute naps when outside 4 separate times and stayed out until we were too hot just sitting in the shade. But today we have this dreamy rainy weather that allowed us to go on two walks during lulls in the rain. I am looking forward to fall, but dreading winter when we will be stuck inside so much.
I saw this on Pinterest and am dying to try it especially since we are in need of a new bookcase and I love the idea that by the time Wallaby could reach the open selves he should know not to eat books. So I am keeping my eyes open on Craigslist to see if I can find a stellar deal. One can hope.
Here’s to the weekend and hoping that yours will be more relaxing than mine looks to be, but at least I’ll have an extra set of hands to help with Wallaby and a cute husband home with me. Happy Weekend to you!
